CEDX Revenue · Finance

Rev-rec with the method
on every line.

72 contracts worth $22.9M, 320 schedule lines, $13.2M still deferred. Revenue keeps the recognition method and pattern on every line — over time, point, usage, milestone — so the close argues about judgment, not about whose spreadsheet is current.

The hold list is the honest part: 54 schedule lines worth $1.13M are frozen until their evidence arrives, and the close-health ring counts them.

01 — Overview

The close position before the close

Recognized MTD $504K against YTD $3.88M, deferred end $13.2M, ARR booked $7.57M. Alerts arrive priced: a go-live slip holding milestone and SaaS lines at $188K, a modification without reallocation at $70K, and a variable-consideration reserve running thin at $48K.

02 — Contracts

The book at contract grain

72 contracts from active to completed. The on-hold rows say why the close is careful: RC-10653 to Vertex Logistics holds $594K deferred on 3 POBs; RC-10655 to Granite Clinics holds $307K on 4.

  • TCV $22.9M across the book
  • POB counts on every row
  • Mod pending tracked as its own state

03 — Schedules

Where recognition actually lives

320 lines across all periods: $5.16M open remaining on 125 lines, 54 on hold worth $1.13M, deferred end $13.2M. Every line's method and pattern is a column — this is the table the auditor would ask for.

  • $7.16M in the matching view
  • Held lines keep their reasons

04 — Waterfall

The roll-forward, period by period

Booked, billed, recognized, deferred end and remaining for each of 12 periods. The deferred-end column falls from $3.62M in July to $1.08M by next February — the shape of the book burning off, on one table.

  • MTD recognized $789K against booked $375K
  • YTD recognized $3.88M

Who runs it

Three roles close the month.

Roles, not references. We have no named customers yet, so nobody in these photographs is quoted, credited or claimed as one.

Lives in the schedule lines: method, pattern, hold and forecast — and finally retires the shadow workbook because the table is the system.

How it runs

A revenue line's life, in the order it actually happens.

01

Book

A contract lands with TCV and POBs — RC-10641 at $919K with one obligation, active through 2028 — and the book total moves.

02

Schedule

Each POB becomes schedule lines with method and pattern: straight-line for support, usage curve for the transaction pack, milestone for the go-live.

03

Hold

What lacks evidence waits: 54 lines worth $1.13M are frozen until go-lives happen and mods get reallocated — visible, priced, counted.

04

Recognize

The waterfall burns the deferred balance down period by period: $789K recognized this month, $13.2M still to go.

Questions

Before you pilot Revenue.

Is the software on this page real?

Yes. Every screenshot is a capture of the running build and you can open the same build at /app/revenue. It runs on demo data.

Where do the recognition methods come from?

They are assigned per schedule line and shown as columns: usage, over time, point and milestone, with straight-line, usage-curve and milestone patterns. The mix this month is 30% over time, 25% usage, 25% milestone, 20% point.

What puts a line on hold?

Evidence. The 54 held lines — $1.13M — wait on things like a go-live that slipped 45 days or a modification without reallocation. The hold count sits on the close-health ring so it cannot be forgotten.

Does it replace our auditor?

No. It replaces the shadow spreadsheet: the waterfall, the schedule lines and the roll-forward live in one system with methods on every line. Judgment and audit stay with your accountants and theirs.

Is Revenue audited or certified?

No certification has been issued. What we can evidence about hosting, encryption, tenant isolation and production access is written up on the security page.

The waterfall is running. Go and look at it.
